Ps 23, etc (long post alert!)
Hello Sanctuary Members! My name is Tim Anas, I'm a Pre-Seminary Sophomore at Concordia Chicago.
I'd like this thread to be a chance for us to first introduce ourselves, secondly to share our thoughts on the Psalm / our ideas about the sermon series (maybe even a suggestion or two!), lastly as a chance to offer up something that we could pray for each other as the Body of Christ.
Online resources are great, because our thoughts are written down and can be seen by everyone in the group, involving everyone no matter where they physically are in the world. I've already given my introduction above, I'll go on to give my thoughts on the sermon series as well as what's laying heavy on my heart right now.
I really liked this idea of breaking down Psalm 23 and exploring the various parts. I'm sure at least some of us have been through a sermon series that looks at Psalm 23, but I love the way Sanctuary has approached this, by actually showing us how the Psalm shows that God cares for us.
There's an elderly lady (mid 80's) I work for in Oak Park. She's technically Greek Orthodox but hasn't been able to get out of her house except for doctor's appointments for the last 20 years or so. She's a max hoarder (maybe you've seen the show), which makes it hard to help her. As I hinted at above, she can barely get around from the bed to the kitchen, much less anywhere else. She also is legally blind and can only read very large font very slowly, which makes things like paying bills near impossible. Pray that God can work through me to help her with her daily life, but also feed her spiritual life.
Thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for your comments
--- Tim

Hi Tim - I'm Don.
I agree with your comments about this 'walk through the valley' of Psalm 23. I am blessed by the opportunity we have at Sanctuary to mold the whole service to highlight specific aspects of each section.
Thanks for caring for this woman - even in the midst of very tough circumstances.
Lord, may you bless this elderly "child" (Your child) with sweet fellowship with you. And Lord, bless Tim with JOY as he serves and give him and extra portion of your GRACE. Amen.
p.s. I don't like sushi.
Couldn’t be written any better. Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this article to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks
